Students will develop an awareness of the types of jobs young people have while in high school, where to find those kinds of jobs and what they would value in a job.
Students will recognise essential criteria in a job advertisement and understand how their skills and attributes meet selection criteria.
Students will understand the importance of a resume in the job application process and begin to structure their own resume using the example provided.
Students will understand that a formal cover letter introduces themselves to a potential employer and demonstrates the value they bring to the position being applied for.
Students will understand the importance of the Unique Student Identifier (USI) and the process for creating and storing their USI and understand the need for a Tax File Number (TFN) and the process for applying for a TFN.
Students will develop an understanding of the importance of safety in the workplace by completing the WorkSafe SmartMove general module.

Students will understand what the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) evidence framework is and how to effectively apply it in written applications and job interviews.
